Knitting a Conundrum

Lord,
in your hands we place
the lives of those
in the hands
of unjustness done in the name of justice,
into your hands,
we place the lives
of all the weak and vunerable
who will suffer
because someone has the power
to kill them.
We pray for all those
who will be harmed
in the name of a merciless mercy.

O Lord,
in particular
remember Terri,
who you raised up as a symbol
of the evil men do
pretending to do good.

Be with those who love her,
and who care,
and who cry.

And hold the hands of all those
around the world
who suffer
watching their loved ones die
bit by bit,
even as they fight,
even as they try,
even as they strive
against a darkness
not of their making.

Help us, O Lord,
if we love you,
to stand for the right,
for what you taught us,
to be living witnesses
each and every day
of the loving way
we should really be.
