My favorite poetry editor Pavel Chichikov (the poetry editor for the Catholic Exchange website) is also a great photographer. He is going to have an exhibition this September, and this is the announcement:
Photo Exhibit at Mount Saint Mary’s Focuses on Seminarians, Catholic Life
“Catholic Faith, Catholic Faces,” a collection of photos of seminary and parish life taken by Pavel Chichikov, will be on exhibit at the Delaplaine Gallery, Mount Saint Mary’s University, Emmitsburg MD, September 1–19.
The exhibit includes images from Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary and other sites in the archdioceses of Washington and Baltimore. A selection of the seminary photos appeared in the January 2004 issue of Crisis magazine under the title “A Day in the Life of Mount St. Mary’s Seminary.” Pavel Chichikov’s work has also appeared in the National Catholic Register, Faith and Family, and the Catholic Standard and may be seen on the Web at “Catholic Images by Pavel Chichikov,” pavel.romancatholic.org.
Pavel Chichikov is a parishioner of Christ the King Church, Silver Spring MD, and is the poetry editor for the Web site CatholicExchange.com. He recently received an award from the Catholic Press Association for a photo story on the 11th Annual World Day of the Sick that appeared in the National Catholic Register in February 2003.
The Delaplaine Gallery is in the Marion Burk Knott Auditorium on the Mount Saint Mary’s campus. Hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., daily. For further information, call 202-726-5146.
Directions: Mount Saint Mary’s University is on U.S. Route 15, about 12 miles south of Gettysburg PA and 22 miles north of Frederick MD. Take the exit marked Main Campus to the college entrance and follow the signs for the Knott Auditorium. Parking is behind the auditorium.
