From Dei Gratia: Freedom for the sake of immorality
There has been much talk lately on the issue of conscience and bishops speaking out against those who vote pro-choice. It's as though we equate being Catholic as something we simply call ourselves -- He's a Democrat, he's a Republican, and he's a Catholic. When and where did we get the idea that we can separate our moral principles from what we stand for? When did we decide "I'm personally against abortion, but I won't oppose my views on others.
