Peace...how the whole world yearns for peace...peace between husband and wife, parents and children. Peace at work. Peace between groups. Peace between nations...Everywhere we look, there is strife, anger, people striking out.
Why?
Something is missing. The peace that comes from being with Jesus. He is our peace.
May we this season of Christmas, here in the US transformed into the season of "give me" remember a Christmas 2000 years ago, when God said, "I will give to you, my poor world" and took on human flesh and experienced intimately what it means to be human so he could bring us to him in peace and love.
Emmanuel! God is truly with us.
