I
Prayer
To you, O blessed Joseph, do we come in our tribulation, and
having implored the help of your most holy spouse, we confidently
invoke your patronage also.
Through that charity which bound you to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of
God and through the paternal love with which you embraced the Child
Jesus, we humbly beg you graciously to regard the inheritance which
Jesus Christ has purchased by his Blood, and with your power and
strength to aid us in our necessities.
O most watchful Guardian of the Holy Family, defend the chosen children
of Jesus Christ;
O most loving father, ward off from us every contagion of error and
corrupting influence;
O our most mighty protector, be propitious to us and from heaven assist
us in our struggle with the power of darkness;
and, as once you rescued the Child Jesus from deadly peril, so now
protect God¹s Holy Church from the snares of the enemy and from all
adversity;
shield, too, each one of us by your constant protection, so that,
supported by your example and your aid, we may be able to live piously,
to die holily, and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven. Amen.

Memorare to St. Joseph
Remember, O most chaste spouse of the Virgin Mary, that never was it
known that anyone who implored your help and sought your intercession
was left unassisted. Full of confidence in your power, I fly to you,
and beg your protection. Despise not, O foster-father of the Redeemer,
my humble supplication, but in your bounty, hear and answer me. Amen.

Novena Prayer to Saint Joseph
O Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt
before the throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires.
O Saint Joseph, assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for
me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ,
Our Lord; so that having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may
offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.
O Saint Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in
your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press
Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me, and ask Him to return the
kiss when I draw my dying breath, Amen

O God, who in Thy ineffable providence didst vouchsafe to choose
blessed Joseph to be the Spouse of Thy most holy Mother: grant, we
beseech Thee, that we may have him for our intercessor in Heaven, whom
on earth we venerate as out most holy Protector. Who livest and
reignest world without end. Amen.

Prayer to St. Joseph by Pope Pius X
O Glorious St. Joseph, model of all who are devoted to labor, obtain
for me the grace to work in the spirit of penance in expiation of my
many sins; to work conscientiously by placing love of duty above my
inclinations; to gratefully and joyously deem it an honor to employ and
to develop by labor the gifts I have received from God, to work
methodically, peacefully, and in moderation and patience, wihtout ever
shrinking from it through weariness or difficulty to work; above all,
with purity of intention and unselfishness, having unceasingly before
my eyes death and the account I have to render time lost, talents
unused, good not done, and vain complacency in success, so baneful to
the work of God. All for Jesus, all for Mary, all to imitate thee, O
Patriarch St. Joseph! This shall be my motto for life and eternity.

Prayer to Saint Joseph, Patron of the
Universal Church
O GLORIOUS St. Joseph, you were chosen by God to be the reputed father
of Jesus, the most pure Spouse of Mary, ever Virgin, and Head of the
Holy Family. You have been chosen by Christ's Vicar as the heavenly
Patron and Protector of the Church founded by Christ. Therefore, with
the greatest confidence I implore your powerful assistance for the
whole Church Militant. Protect, in a special manner, with true fatherly
love, the Sovereign Pontiff and all the bishops and priests in
communion with the See of Peter. Be the protector of all who labor for
souls amid the trials and tribulations of this life; and grant that all
the nations of the earth may submit with docility to that Church out of
which there is no salvation.
Dearest St. Joseph, accept the offering I now make of myself to you. I
dedicated myself to your service, that you may ever be my Father, my
Protector and my Guide in the way of salvation. Obtain for me great
purity of heart and a fervent love for the interior life. Grant that,
after your example, all my action may be directed to the greater glory
of God, in union with the divine Heart of Jesus, the Immaculate Heart
of Mary, and your own paternal heart. Finally, pray for me that I may
share in the peace and joy of your holy death. Amen.

Prayer to St. Joseph
Be mindful of us, O blessed Joseph,
and intercede for us with thy foster-Son by the pleading of thy prayer:
do thou, in like manner, render the blessed Virgin Mary thy Spouse,
gracious onto us,
for she is the Mother of Him, who with the Father and the Holy Ghost
liveth and reigneth world without end.

while imploring the aid of thy most holy Spouse, we confidently invoke
thy patronage also. By that love which united thee to the Immaculate
Virgin, Mother of God, and by the fatherly affection with which thou
didst embrace the Infant Jesus, we humbly beseech thee graciously to
regard the inheritance which Jesus Christ purchased with His Blood and
to help us in our necessities, by thy powerful intercession.
Protect, I most provident Guardian of the Holy Family, the chosen
children of Jesus Christ; ward off from us, O most loving Father, all
taint of error and corruption; graciously assist us from Heaven, O most
power protector, in our struggle with the powers of darkness; and as
thou didst once rescue the Child Jesus from imminent peril to His life,
so now defend the Holy Church of God from the snares of her enemies and
from all adversity.
Shield each one of us with thy unceasing patronage that, imitating thy
example and sported by thy aid, we may be enabled to live a good life,
die a holy death, and secure everlasting happiness in Heaven.
