Novena For the Mercy of God

 Day 1

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy
Spirit, Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven; hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in
heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive
us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass
against us, and lead us not into temptation; but
deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for
us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Scripture Reading:

And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most
High; for you will go before the Lord to prepare his
ways, to give knowledge of salvation to his people in
the forgiveness of their sins, through the tender mercy
of our God, when the day shall dawn upon us from on
high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in
the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of
peace. Luke 1, 76-79

Glory to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, as it
was in the beginning, is now and shall ever be, world
without end, Amen.

Divine Mercy, gushing forth from the bosom of the
Father,
I trust in Thee!
Divine Mercy, sweet relief for anguished souls,
I trust in Thee!
Divine Mercy, astonishment for Angels, incomprehensible
to saints,
I trust in thee!

Oh Father of mercy,
Hear our voice,
and let our cry come to thee,
for surely you have taught us
that unless the Lord build the house
those who build it labor in vain,
so we turn to you,
our source, our wisdom, and our guide,
and ask on bended knee
for you to pour out your mercy
on us and the whole world.

O my God!
I believe, I adore, I trust and I love you.

I beg pardon for those who do not believe,
do not adore, do not trust
and do not love you.

Day 2

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy
Spirit, Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven; hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in
heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive
us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass
against us, and lead us not into temptation; but
deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for
us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Scripture Reading:

Is not this the fast that I choose:
to loose the bonds of wickedness,
to undo the thongs of the yoke,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to break every yoke?
Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
and bring the homeless poor into your house;
when you see the naked, to cover him,
and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
Then shall your light break forth like the dawn,
and your healing shall spring up speedily;
your righteousness shall go before you,
the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.
Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer;
you shall cry, and he will say, Here I am.

Isaiah 58, 6-9

Glory to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, as it
was in the beginning, is now and shall ever be, world
without end, Amen.

Father,
I trust in Thee!
Divine Mercy, sweet relief for anguished souls,
I trust in Thee!
Divine Mercy, astonishment for Angels, incomprehensible
to saints,
I trust in thee!

Oh Father of mercy,
Hear our voice,
and let our cry come to thee,
You who send your only begotton Son
to live among us,
to die among us,
to give his life's blood
to rescue us,
We offer up His body and blood
soul and divinity
that you would remember us,
and spread your mercy across the face of the earth.

O my God!
I believe, I adore, I trust and I love you.

I beg pardon for those who do not believe,
do not adore, do not trust
and do not love you.

For thou, O Lord, art good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call on thee.

for thou dost answer me.

Scripture Reading:
And you he made alive, when you were dead through the
trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following
the course of this world, following the prince of the
power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the
sons of disobedience. Among these we all once lived in
the passions of our flesh, following the desires of
body and mind, and so we were by nature children of
wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, who is rich
in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us,
even when we were dead through our trespasses.

I beg pardon for those who do not believe,

Since then we have a great high priest who has passed
through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold
fast our confession. For we have not a high priest who
is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one
who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet
without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to
the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find
grace to help in time of need.

Scripture Reading:

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD
has anointed me to bring good tidings to the afflicted;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to
proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of
the prison to those who are bound; : to proclaim the
year of the LORD's favor, and the day of vengeance of
our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those
who mourn in Zion -- to give them a garland instead of
ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the
mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they
may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of
the LORD, that he may be glorified.

Divine Mercy, gushing forth from the bosom of the
Father,
I trust in Thee!
Divine Mercy, sweet relief for anguished souls,

You are the source of all mercy,
all healing,
all light..
Have mercy on them and us
and on the whole world!.

O my God!
I believe, I adore, I trust and I love you.

I beg pardon for those who do not believe,
do not adore, do not trust
and do not love you.

( A worthwhile thing to do is finish each day's prayers with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy)
